For those 24 fans wondering if any cast member on the show could be worse than Janine Garafolo? There just might be. When you think Freddie Prinze Jr. you don’t really picture him being on 24. Like it or hate it, he is joining the show whether we want him to or not. This does reveal that their actually will be an eight season. After the season finale we weren’t quit sure if they were going to make an eighth season.

Prinze Jr. will play the role of a ‘badass’ Marine named Davis Cole who works for CTU field ops and wants to follow in Jack Bauer’s footprints.

Fox confirmed the news yesterday, also announcing that Slumdog Millionaire star Anil Kapoor is joining as Arman Hashemi, a Middle East leader, John Boyd as a CTU systems analyst, and Chris Diamantopoulos as the president’s chief of staff. Additionally, some new reoccurring actors have also joined the case including Jennifer Westfeldt as a journalist and Nazneen Contractor as Anil’s daughter.

Production for the next season started last Wednesday.
