List of Closing Chrysler Dealerships

Chrysler is going bankrupt and GM has made a list of over 750 dealerships that will be closed.

Chrysler had a total of 3,181 authorized dealers in operation at the time of its April 30 bankruptcy court filing, according to court filings.

General Motors Corp. has told roughly 1,100 underperforming U.S. dealers they will be closed by late next year as part of a plan to bring the number of GM dealers to around 3,600 by the end of 2010.

GM, however, isn’t publicly disclosing the list of dealerships that will be shut down.

This essentially means less jobs for Americans and a blow to the economy.

All the dealerships haven’t been listed by GM just yet.

Here is the list so far:

* Tom Sparks Buick in Dekalb, Illinois.

* Reichert Automotive Group, which has locations in Crystal Lake and Woodstock, Illinois.

* Two dealerships owned by the Asbury Automotive Group in Kissimmee, Florida.

* Fox Pontiac Buick GMC in Alpine Township, Michigan.

* Chuck Clancy Chevrolet dealership in Cartersville, Georgia.

* Nourse Interstate Automall in Richburg, South Carolina.

* Matthews Chevy of Brilliant, Ohio; and Glen Dale Motors and Bell Chevrolet of Sistersville, West Virginia.
