Whoopi Goldberg is voicing her opinion on Patrick Swayze’s current battle with cancer. The former Ghost co-star says that Swayze is in “good spirits.”

“He’s doing what everybody else is doing. He’s taking it one day at a time,” Goldberg said during an interview on Britain’s GMTV. “He does not have an expiration date on his backside, you know, none of us do. We just know at some point it’s going to happen. That’s how he’s looking at it.”

Swayze at age 56 has now been battling pancreatic cancer for over a year. His latest show Beast came out on A&E and is doing relatively well.

“But you know, he’s got a new TV show going. You know, he’s walking forward. So he’s in good spirits. He’s thin, but he’s in good spirits,” Goldberg said.

Swayze has a lot of things to look forward to; he is writing a book, starting a new chemothearapy treatment and getting a new puppy.
