It’s hard to believe how much Sammy Sosa’s skin tone has change in the past few years – but if you look at the ‘before and after’ picture you will be shocked at the noticeable change.

Sosa wasn’t trying to change his skin color and go all ‘Michael Jackson’ on us. He says it was just a skin cream he using and that is what caused the radical pigmentation.

He may go as far as endorsing the cream for those who desire these “specific effects”.

“If he feels it is of good quality, it may be something he will be endorsing and marketing in the United States in the near future,” said Rebecca Polihronis, the former Cubs community relations employee, who spoke on behalf of Sosa.

DeAngelo Hall got in a fight with his former team’s coach Mike Smith.

Hall showed no restraint after his late hit on Matt Ryan. He pissed off the whole team and coaching staff and thought he could take them all on. More impressive was the fact that they had to pull Mike Smith away because he wan’t backing down.

Florida Gators linebacker Brandon Spikes was caught on video gouging a Georgia players eye.

Spikes will get suspended for the first half of the game this Saturday against Vanderbilt. Maybe this will teach him not to play dirty. This definitely takes away from the class the Florida Gators appeared to have. You can see in the video that Spikes deliberately sticks his fingers inside the opposing players helmet.

Brandon Spikes Eye Gouging Video

Lee Corso suffered a stroke earlier this year, he decided to keep it quiet from the public.

He obviosly doesn’t want any pity or sympathy and is a strong man who wants to continue doing what he does without a hitch.

Sure he is a little wacky during his commentary, but College Game Day just wouldn’t be the same without him.

He has recovered from his stroke, but as some may know you are never quite the same after suffering one. We hope it doesn’t affect his abiltity to do color commentating in the future.

The St. Louis Cardinals were up 2-1 when the fly ball headed Holliday’s way, he evidently couldn’t see it and the ball hit him in the abdomen. After this a run scored to tie it, then later on another run scored to defeat the Cardinals and put them on the brink of playoff extinction. Holliday’s error came with two outs – he would have ended the game had he just made the easy catch.

One of his teammates actually had the gall to blame it on all the white towels the fans were waving. He said they should change them to Dodger blue, that’s as a lame an excuse as I’ve ever heard.

Matt Holliday Error Video

An injury to Eli Manning could spell trouble for the N.Y. Giants. They were off to a good start in the NFC east and now may stumble.

It is being called a “heel injury” by medical staff attending to the star QB of the Giants.

“I don’t know exactly what it is,” Manning said. “I can walk around. I can move around. There is some discomfort. … I don’t think it’s awful. I think I’ve been injured worse before. We’ll just see how it feels throughout the week.”

Eli is a good guy and we hope it doesn’t ruin things for him, but I still pull for the Cowboys regardless of what happens.

Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera was taken to a police station over the weekend after getting into a fight with his wife at their suburban Detroit home when he came home drunk, authorities said Monday.

Birmingham Police Chief Richard Patterson said Rosangel Cabrera called 911 at 6 a.m. Saturday, requesting police assistance. An alcohol test found that Miguel Cabrera was at three times the legal limit for driving, police said.

No charges will be filed and both Cabreras refused medical attention.

“We determined that they both contributed to the domestic assault,” Patterson said. “It was minor in nature. They did have some marks on their faces. We could not determine who the aggressor was.”

Cabrera, who hit .323 with 33 home runs and 101 RBIs this season, is in the second season of an eight-year, $152.3 million contract he signed after Detroit acquired him in a blockbuster trade with the Florida Marlins.

Cabrera was the best hitter this season for Detroit. But on Friday night, with the Tigers desperately trying to wrap up the American League Central title, he went 0-for-4 and stranded four runners on base in an 8-0 loss to the White Sox. On Saturday night, he again went 0-for-4 and left six runners on base in a 5-1 loss to Chicago.

It wasn’t immediately known where Cabrera went after Friday’s game.

“He did not say exactly where he was at,” the chief said. “We learned that he was possibly at the local hotel with (a) … player from another team, the White Sox. Now, that hasn’t been verified, nor are we in the process of verifying that, but obviously he had been drinking and that’s what we had heard.”

Cabrera’s agent, Fernando Cuza, did not immediately return a message Monday.

“I’m focused on one thing—the game,” Cabrera said Sunday when asked about the facial injuries. Tigers manager Jim Leyland didn’t want to talk about the issue Sunday.

Rosangel Cabrera asked that her husband leave the house, so officers took him to the police station, Patterson said. Cabrera was administered a breath test by police and registered a 0.26 blood-alcohol reading, Patterson said. The legal limit for Michigan drivers is 0.08.

Cabrera was picked up at the station by Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski around 7:30 a.m. Dombrowski declined comment Monday when contacted by The Associated Press.

“I have had a conversation with Miguel,” the Detroit GM wrote in an e-mail over the weekend. “It is a personal situation, and I am not at liberty to discuss it further.”

The Tigers finished the regular season tied the Twins for first place in the American League Central. The teams will play Tuesday in Minnesota, with the winner advancing to the playoffs.

Two thumbs down for lack of creativity on Deshawn Stevenson’s tattoo.

He has his last name ‘Stevenson’ engraved on his back. Wow, and bloggers thought Vince Young getting ‘V. Young’ on his back was bad.

Stevenson actually plans on turning it into a jersey, so we will soon be seeing a number 2 underneath the name on his back.

“It’s not finished yet,” he said. “I’m doing my whole back as a jersey….It’s gonna be real nice.”

When told that Vince Young had done a similar thing this was his reply.

“For real?” he said. “See, that’s the new hot thing.”

One man’s trend is another’s foolish mistake.

Deshawn Stevenson Tattoo

USC running back Stafon Johnson has a serious injury after dropping a weight on his throat.

While bench pressing his grip must have slipped and the bar dropped down on his throat. He was spitting up blood and had to be rushed to the hospital.

He is in stable condition as of late but will likely not be playing football for quite some time. This comes as bad news to USC as he is their best running back and they have already lost one game to Washington.

USC Running Back Injury

Baylor Bears star quarterback Robert Griffin will be out for the season due to a knee injury.

An MRI scan revealed “an isolated tear” in his ACL. This is most unfortunate as Baylor had high prospects for a great season mostly due to the stellar sophomore QB. He sustained the injury in the first half of the Bears’ 68-13 victory over Northwestern State on Saturday night.

The Bears also lost senior defensive back and return specialist Mikail Baker to a knee injury. An MRI revealed an ACL tear and tears to his medial and lateral meniscus after he was hurt on special teams.

Griffin was injured when his leg bent awkwardly while being stopped for no gain on a fourth-down play the opening series of the game. He remained on the ground for several minutes, the silence broken only when Baylor students started chanting his name before he walked gingerly to the sideline.

This is a huge loss to a team that might have upset a couple of top ranked Big 12 teams this year.
