“Mad Max” Sequel

“Mad Max 4″ is under way thanks to filmmaker George Miller who is about to start filming the sequel later this year. Miller directed the first three Mad Max films and will partially direct the fourth film in the series.

For those of you wondering, no Mel Gibson will not be in the fourth film. Miller believes Gibson is too old and would have no interest in starring in the film. Gibson had played the hero in the first three films.

“I have a few projects in the pipeline including an animation…but I want to do another Mad Max movie and get stuck back into that…It won’t be Mel. He was 21 when he made the first one, now he’s a lot older and his passion is for filmmaking and directing. I don’t think he is into acting and I don’t think he would be interested in being involved at all.”

There was a time when Miller lost interest in making the sequel after his buddy/producer Byron Kennedy was tragically killed in a helicopter accident while scouting locations in Australia. So for this next film he Miller will direct the action scenes and director Greg Ogilvie will direct the rest. A title card at the end of the film is shown in remembrance of his friend, saying “For Byron.” The script that he was given for Mad Max 4 completely captivated him and inspired him to make the sequel.

Aliens In The Attic Trailer

This is a cool family movie that I had not heard much about. I stumbled upon the trailer and it actually looks really good. The film is Aliens In The Attic it stars Ashley Tisdale as well as Andy Richter. It’s about kids on a family vacation when some aggressive aliens find them and attack. The kids must deal with the alien menace while their parents are unaware. It has a good mix of computer animation with live action.

Here is the trailer:

The movie comes out on July 31st of this year.

Gerard Butler Charged With Battery

The famous star from “300″ fame Gerard Butler has been charged with battery.

The Scottish actor is accused of punching a paparazzo in the face before he got into his limo outside Crown Bar in Los Angeles at two in the morning on Oct. 7 of last year.

Butler had been celebrating the premiere of Guy Ritchie’s film ‘RocknRolla’, in which he starred.

Los Angeles City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan confirmed the charges related to an “altercation with a photographer.”

Butler’s manager Alan Siegel said the actor asked his driver to stop the car after the photographer repeatedly sped through red lights and almost hit two pedestrians while pursuing them.

When his chauffeur pulled over, Butler allegedly got out of the car and took the confronted the photographer.

Butler will be arraigned on June 10 but his lawyer says the actor will not appear in court. If he is found guilty, he could spend up to six months in jail and be forced to pay a $2,000 fine.

Maybe this will put some fear in the paparazzi to leave actors alone. At least Butler is willing to stand up to them. Besides he may have saved lives from traffic accidents by stopping the paparazzo.

Butler is also set to star in the romantic comedy, “The Ugly Truth” which comes out July 24th this summer.

‘Wolverine’ to Launch in Mexico

Hugh Jackman has now been cleared to visit Mexico. There were concerns about him going because of the swine flu outbreak a few weeks earlier. On May 26th Jackman will be at the premiere of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” to help launch the film.

The Mexico premiere will be hosted at the National Auditorium. According to Jackman’s Twitter page, the “Wolverine” star intends “to provide a moment of fun escapism and a treat for some of the loyal fans of the comic.”

Movie theaters across Mexico reopened Thursday after a five-day shutdown of businesses, schools and other venues. Mexico announced its 45th death and 159 more cases Friday.

Christina Aguilera – “Burlesque” Movie

American pop/R ‘n’ B singer Christina Aguilera is all set to make her on-screen debut in “Burlesque”, a contemporary musical that Steven Antin will direct. Aguilera, 28, who has never starred in a film, will be playing an ambitious small-town girl with a big voice who finds love, family, and success in a Los Angeles neo-burlesque club.

“I couldn’t be more excited, as this was a project written with her in mind,” Variety magazine quoted Screen Gems topper Clint Culpepper as saying.

The script has been written by Antin, and revised by “Erin Brockovich” scribe Susannah Grant. Donald De Line will produce the film, which is scheduled to start shooting later this year.

Dom DeLuise Died

Dome DeLuise was a famous comedian, actor, master of cartoon voices and a great chef.

DeLuise died on Monday night at a hospital in the Los Angeles community of Santa Monica, his agent Robert Malcolm said. He passed away peacefully in his sleep.

“It’s easy to mourn his death, but easier to remember a time when he made you laugh,” DeLuise’s family said in a statement issued by Malcolm.

DeLuise was in notable film such as “Spaceballs” as Pizza the Hut, “Blazing Saddles” and “Robin Hood Men in Tights”. He did voices in “All Dogs Go To Heaven”, “An American Tail” and other great cartoons.

He was a great man who could make us all laugh, he will be sorely missed.

Bill Murray in ‘Zombieland’

Bill Murray was in Georgia working on the film Get Low while Zombieland was in production. There have been anonymous sources saying that Murray was seen dining with Woody Harrelson the main star of Zombieland in Atlanta.

According to the source Murray doned some Zombie makeup for a cameo scene in the upcoming horror-comedy film. We look forward to seeing both this film and Murray’s bizzarre scene.

Catherine Zeta-Jones to Play Susan Boyle?

Catherine Zeta-Jones is looking into playing Susan Boyle in a possible biopic of the newly made star. She saw Susan Boyle’s performance and life story and is very interested in acquiring the film rights. Even James Cameron former Titanic director wants in on the collaboration. Sounds like this project is very doable.

Miss Boyle, a church volunteer from West Lothian, Scotland, has become a worldwide star after her performance on the Britain’s Got Talent show several weeks ago.

Footage of her singing I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables has become the most viewed YouTube clip of all time with more than 100 million views.

Oddly enough, with enough makeup Zeta-Jones actually pulls off a “semi pretty” version of Boyle. Must be facial features or something.

“Wall Street 2″ With Michael Douglas & Shia LaBeouf

I was watching Jay Leno last night and Michael Douglas was the guest. He started talking about Wall Street 2 and how excited he was to be working on it. I couldn’t believe what I heard. This is a joke right? Leno is just playing along, wait for it… Well the punchline never came. This movie might really happen.

Yes folks Michael Douglas will return as Gordon Gekko and Shia LaBeouf is going to play a young broker in today’s roller coaster economy trying to learn the ropes. This is very good timing for a stock broker film in today’s world where you never know if companies are cooking the books or going to go from 100 points to 1 in a week.

I think both of those actors will do a fine job and it is supposed to be directed by Oliver Stone. Maybe Charlie Sheen could have a cameo and give the young kid (Lebeouf) some advice.

The film has not started shooting yet so the cast and crew haven’t been picked besides Douglas, LaBeouf and Stone. There are many different plot possibilites with this one, let’s hope they pick a good one.

Dev Patel Dating Freida Pinto?

It has been rumored lately that Dev Patel of Slumdog Millionaire and his on-screen love interest have started dating. Everyone in the gossip columns thought that Freida Pinto broke off her engagement to be with the ‘Slumdog’ star. It only makes logical sense right? Or could it be that the actress just didn’t want to be with her fiance?

These alleged rumors of the two newly made celebs dating have been proven false by the two stars.

Pinto responds, “No we are not. We’re not dating, no.”

Patel adds, “Of course, no, we’re not seeing each other.”

Well there you have it.
